Methods for Measurement of Tibial Torsion
No conventional technique for routine assessment of tibial torsion, the twisting of tibia around the longitudinal axis, has yet gained acceptance. Clinical measurements give approximate values only. Methods employing tropometers and other mechanical devices have mainly been used for measurement in skeletal specimens and in patients, though on a limited scale. Certain roentgenographic methods ar...
متن کاملSENSE factors for reliable cortical thickness measurement
The purposes of this study were to examine the effect of sensitivity encoding (SENSE) factors on cortical thickness measurements and to determine which SENSE factor to use to reliably measure cortical thickness in 3.0 T and 1.5 T T1-weighted MRI images. The 3D T1-TFE images were acquired from 11 healthy volunteers with 6 different SENSE acceleration factors from 1.0 (without SENSE acceleration)...
متن کاملRegistration based cortical thickness measurement
Cortical thickness is an important biomarker for image-based studies of the brain. A diffeomorphic registration based cortical thickness (DiReCT) measure is introduced where a continuous one-to-one correspondence between the gray matter-white matter interface and the estimated gray matter-cerebrospinal fluid interface is given by a diffeomorphic mapping in the image space. Thickness is then def...
متن کاملdevelopment of different optical methods for determination of glucose using cadmium telluride quantum dots and silver nanoparticles
a simple, rapid and low-cost scanner spectroscopy method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and cdte/tga quantum dots as chromoionophore has been described. the detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzymatic reaction and the quenching effect of h2o2 on the cdte quantum dots (qds) photoluminescence.in this study glucose was determined by utilizing glucose...
Validation of the Laplacian Approach for Cortical Thickness Measurement
We present a validation study of the Laplacian method for tissue thickness measurement. In particular, we compared the variability of this method to others due to factors such slice thickness, head repositioning and interchange of boundaries. Our results show the advantage of the Laplacian approach.
